The Punjab government has released a new guideline in view of the growing corona menace in Punjab, which will now take night curfew in Punjab from 7 am to 5 pm every day from tomorrow. Only 50 percent of the people in the same government and private offices will go till 31st August. At the same time, only 50 percent of the buses will travel and only 3 member will travel in private vehicles. In the worst corona affected areas, only 50 per cent of non-essential goods shops will be opened. Till 31st August, it has been ordered to impose a complete ban on all ceremonies except weddings and funerals across the state. Government and private offices will work at 50% capacity by the end of this month, as per the instructions issued by the Chief Minister during a video.
In the five most affected districts of Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali), restrictions on vehicular capacity have been re-imposed, 50% capacity with buses and other public transport and private four wheelers are not allowed to operate more than three passengers in private vehicles. The Chief Minister has directed the DC in these five districts to allow only 50% of non-essential shops to be opened on daily basis to check congestion. These five districts are currently responsible for 80% of the active case load in the state.
